Ain Shams University established in 1950 is the third oldest university in Egypt. Ain Shams University seeks to accomplish excellence in the field of university education and scientific research on national, regional, and international levels through committing to total quality for its faculties and departments and research centers. All this is in an environment that has independence, freedom, democracy and strong collaboration between the university and other universities, organizations and local Arab and foreign institutes. In light of the University's vision, its mission is represented in merging the idea of total quality and continuous improvement in the educational organization, as well as, the academic research.
The Ain Shams University is looking forward to establish a Center of Excellence for Studies and Research in German and Arabic as Foreign Languages.

The Goethe-Institut is the official cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany operating worldwide which promotes the knowledge of the German language abroad, caring for international cultural cooperation and conveying information about Germany. The Goethe-Institut Cairo / Alexandria is responsible for activities in Egypt and in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
